The first car shown on the video above looks more like a new X2. I just think the front bumper on the blue car on the video looks horrible! Wtf the BMW chief designer is doing?

The video is based on images published by the German car magazine Autobild in the issue #18 as of May 2nd this year. I actually bought it due to the (non)-news.

The last car (blue) shown is according to Autobild the new X1. Said that though the X1 is a computer image generated by Autobild based on "insider input". So there is absolutely no guarantee that it will look anything like that at all. It will be based on the same platform as the next BMW 1-series which will be launched later this year. They also guess the next X1 will come in a iX1 version as well. They claim it will come in 2021 but if a facelift is coming later this year as a 2020 model I don't see why they would introduce a new version just one or two years later.

Nice information.
It was also my impression that the X1 is not a real car. The front is really ugly.

Interesting to know, the new BMW X1 LCI, will it be a global model or just for China?

Global, tho chinese models have differences usually, like being slightly bigger.

I don't see fog lights on that first post tho, and the camouflaged LCI has foglights:

Also the kidneys look more like the current model.

I'm certainly interested in more details of a plug-in hybrid version of the X1, and when it might be arriving in the UK. I really like our X1 as a family car and it's done us well for the last 3 years since we ordered it, but we don't do massive mileage (8 to 9k miles per year) and a lot of that is around town driving, sitting in jams and generally crawling around. I'm booked in for a 48 hour test drive of the Mini Countryman ALL4 PHEV just to get a feel of the platform, as I imagine it will be fairly comparable to the hybrid X1 if/when it launches. I don't obviously know exactly what might be shared technology between the two, but I think I'm right in saying that the underlying chassis is the same?

BMW X1 xDrive25Le is equipped with a 1.5-liter engine, which turns the front wheels, 6-speed "automatic" Steptronic and an electric motor on the rear axle. Total power - 231 hp and 382 Nm of torque. It takes only 7.4 seconds to accelerate from zero to 100 km / h.
The energy for the electric motor is provided by new high-voltage lithium-ion batteries, thanks to which the power reserve of the updated BMW X1 xDrive25Le was increased only by electric thrust - up to 110 km, which is 83% more than its predecessor. And in the combined cycle, the hybrid crossover spends just 1.3 liters of fuel per 100 km.At the moment, this X1 is the most economical BMW.

You're right. The X1 and Mini Countryman chassis are the same.

Here it is:
1. All of those are renders/photoshops i.e. not the real thing. A lot of people seem to have a hard time understanding this...
2. The first car is (as pointed out above) the new 1 series which will be revealed this Monday and can be seen in its actual form here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lhKXeSvsjvU
3. 2021 is too early for the next X1, summer 2022 (MY2023) is more likely.

Updating the model will certainly not be before 2022.

This looks ridiculous. If the next X1 is based on the same design, I guess ours will keep good value.

It's officially official: https://www.carscoops.com/2019/05/20...id-powertrain/

Shame about the fog lights. It was an iconic BMW X design cue. But I supposed it was expected after the new X3/X5. It'll disappear on the X2 LCI too I'm sure.

That stupid pigeon-poop-grey trim on the x-Line rear bumper is gone and it's now body coloured like the Sport trim. And I know it's probably blasphemous of me for saying it, but I like the grill. And not just on the X1. I like it on all new BMWs.

I like the grill too. That's literally the only change anyone can notice though, so I don't think it will affect the value of the pre-facelift much. No interior or technical changes at all.

Front end looks a bit too much like an X2 for my liking.
