Who has run a cable through the firewall?

(2016 f48 X1, LHD) Seeking some advice from anyone who's routed a cable through the firewall. I'm installing an amplifier and need to run the 12v+ from the battery through the firewall and I'm not sure where to find a good spot.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

There's a hole in the firewall behind the battery near the steering column region covered with a rubber plug. You can access this hole by lifting the hood up, and looking into the top right corner of the hood area and down an opening. There's a rubber plug that can be removed and you can run wires through there.

IIRC, the hole is still on the LHD side, despite you having the RHD. I may be wrong.

were you able to run the cable through that area? I'm looking to use that plug also but don't know where it is on the inside of the cab

Yes. The hole will exit under the dash near, above, and to left of the steering column; looking from inside the cabin.
