Lost a Keyfob.

1. The best place to get a replacement. Dealer quoted $800
2. How do I make sure the one lost never works. In case it was taken by someone who finds my car.

I am in Toronto and lost a keyfob around 2 years ago.

1. Parkview BMW parts department charged me ~$625 CAD to order a new keyfob from Germany. It is highly regulated by BMW and they cannot do it themselves.
2. I asked them about cancelling the old and they said it was extremely unlikely that a person who finds the keyfob will happen to find you car and and try it. I didn't worry about it.

Despite having to buy a new keyfob, the happy surprise was that I got back the lost keyfob after some nice person found it and send it to War Amps key tags, who couriered it back to me.
