2021 "Diamond" M35i Cerium Grey Grille Part No.

hey,

so, i contacted a bmw parts supplier to inquire about purchasing the new 2021 diamond-patterned cerium grey grille that comes on the M35i models. well, i input my own VIN and they were unable to produce a result because of the way the bmw catalogue is set up. anyhow, they were able to give me two grilles that were specific to the x2 that weren't part of the shadowline package, but that doesn't help me much because i don't want to buy both grilles.

i realize that there are the diamond pattern grilles on ebay but they are gloss black and not cerium grey and i want the grey color.

does anyone here have the 2021 m35i with the diamond-patterned grille who would be kind enough to either point me in the right direction, or share a picture and VIN via a private message?

thanks!

Just making sure that you understand that a complete front grille is two part numbers. One for the driver/left kidney and one for the passenger/right kidney. You can look here to see what I'm saying. Not sure if this helps.

yes, thanks! sorry, so to clarify, they were able to provide for the grille and the bracket which both consist of two part numbers for two separate grilles, so four part numbers total. they don't help me at all, though, because when i look them up on the site bmwpartsnow or on the web, they aren't shown as illustrations, just as super generic descriptions.

I'd suggest that you go to the dealer. They will be able to match the part number to the picture. The grilles snap in so there is no separate bracket, just the left kidney and the right kidney. Should be two part numbers total.

Thanks - I'll definitely do that because the newer grille is a lot better looking!

So I stopped by my local dealer and they were able to source part numbers but not the parts as the entire nation is showing zero inventory. I looked on European suppliers' sites and they, too, are showing no inventory. One site shows no stock, but anticipated stock in five business days although I'm leery because every other vendor online in the EU is showing no stock and there isn't any in North America either.

In any case, the part numbers are 51139881783 and 51139881784.

If anyone has better luck, let me know!

Not surprising given that the November builds were the first to use them. I'm sure the initial allocations are going to the factory. They'll be in the pipeline soon enough. A body shop might be able to order one expedited, for a car in a non-drivable state anyway.

Find a new owner who prefers the old style, and swap!

glen, they didn't tell me the price, but the european sites do list the price as around 50 euros for each grille piece even though they aren't available to purchase.

tmt, i'm working on it but there are so few of us m35i owners that it's difficult.

Just making you aware that for 2022 production which starts next month they are offering an extended shadow line treatment which has the grilles (and exhaust tips) in black.

thanks for the suggestion, but i don't want black as i really do like the cerium grey and how it integrates with the wheels, the mirror caps, the exhaust tips, the front vent surrounds and all of the badging on the car -- all are in cerium grey and i happen to really like the color.

so i was able to search various european sites and communicate in catalan with a vendor in denmark who is able to source the grille directly from bmw europe. they couldn't confirm that the grille was indeed the one from the 2021 MY m35i, but they believed it to be -- it's definitely a 2021 MY grille that says it's for the m35i, so i went ahead and bought the two pieces knowing that if they aren't what i'm looking for that i'm out of luck.

if they aaare the right ones, i'll tell you guys where to get them, but right now i don't want to lead anyone to the wrong place.
