X2 - 3 months ownership experiences: X2 (slightly edged out) X6

I purchased a CPO X2 with just a few thousand miles on the odometer toward the end of 2020. In just shy of 3 months, I put roughly 1400 miles on the car. Considering that I worked from home and visited clients here and there, 1400 miles is quite a bit. In the same time frame, I may have used X6 for 300 miles.

By the mileage comparison alone, X2 became the favorite car of the house. My wife likes it because it is easier to drive than X6. My son absolutely wants to drive it all the time since his 110HP Jetta, which needs a mile to get from 0-60 (I may have exaggerated a little).

I might be wrong here but X2 doesn't scream out as an expensive BMW! Though, a cheap BMW is an oxymoron statement. In such a small package, it is a very capable car. This is not a cheap car by any means and there is no justification needed. To us, X2 M35i is just right at about $40k.

For prospective X2 buyers out there, you will be happy with either a 2.8i or a 35i. I went with a 35i purely because I wanted the AWD, sport bucket seat, and big brake.

Cheers,

I skipped all the 2.8 and waited for the 35i because I wanted the HP.

I was thinking the other day that this is the most trouble-free "fun" car I've owned, for the first year.

Even taking into account that I only have about 6K miles on it, I've had just two issues, the car had a defective taillight, and it needed a front-end alignment. The dealer took care of both. The only other quirk is the audio cutting out from time to time, which appears to be an amplifier software issue.

I'm satisfied, anyway.
