can't believe i'm saying this but i'm even considering an E84 X1 35i over F31 328i simply because the engine choice. |

The best alternative would be the X3 since the F25 is cheaper then the F31 when comparably configured. A decently optioned F31 340i would be well into the 60s and an every option box checked F25 35i is $64k.

And an X3 is 300 pounds heavier than an E84 and 400 pounds heavier than the F31 with the N20. If only we got a rwd F31 with the N55/B58. |

You do have to deal with a bit more bulk, but you also gain a lot of useable space as well. Just depends on what you want.

0-60 times are BMW's own numbers. Real world numbers say otherwise.
But both are suitably fast, it's not worth getting too excited about. The X3 is much better finished out than the E84 and likely the F48 too. It's bigger than what we want, and certainly much heavier, but it is a nice car. |

Today BMW posted some new X1 M Sport photos on their website at bmwusa.com. Enjoy!
Interestingly the first photo looks like a bad PhotoShop job, IMHO...

Great pics and info! These are the Euro specs...Those seats won't be coming to US and the stiffened and lowered suspension (M-Sport suspension) will be included in all X1's. Also, I am told, you can order your M-Sport in any of the X1 color combinations plus that special blue color...

Now I'm confused... so the US-spec standard X1 seats will have adjustable thigh bolsters? Or is that only for the sport seats in the M performance package?
I've seen these M-Sport seats (which according to the above are euro spec): These seats which are X-line seats in Europe... I have no idea if they are standard in the US or not: And these seats which appear to be the standard base model seats: So which is/are the US getting? What? The M-Sport package? It's not fully integrated into the USA configurator yet, but if you select either the 570M or 572M tires under options, it will give you the M-Sport features. Plus it adds the price of M-Sport into the total price.

X1 M Sport USA availability
Does anyone know when the arrival date for the X1 M Sport in the USA will happen? The original date was supposed to be 11/15/2015, but it looks like this date has been slipped. Also, the photos of a LHD M Sport show grey leather seats. Will this be available in the USA? Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks...I can live with the strange rear bumper setup, too many other goodies to pass up. I drove an xDrive last week, the standard seats are terrible. Otherwise, I was very impressed with the car....

I actually don't like the looks of the M-Sport. The colored panels near the ground make it look fat and like a bloated pig. It looks less like a SUV and more like a station wagon (estate). But I'll likely get it because it's the only way to get the sport seats (here in the USA).
