THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!

Worked perfect. Spent all night trying to figure this out.

I used a multimeter to figure out the fuses

Went with 37 for the yellow wire and 52 for the red.

Didn't bother with fuse taps, I just wrapped the wire around one of the legs of the fuse and popped it back in. I think 37 is the parking brake and 52 is the parking assist.
I had trouble finding a legend of what all those symbols mean on the fuse diagram.

Under the glove box is a screw (diagonal from the extra cigarette lighter that's under there) which worked great for the ground.

One thing that took me a while to realize is you probably will need to start your car back up before seeing the green light go on in the power magic pro.

I have the power magic pro mounted in the glove box and all the wires tucked neatly behind the fuse box door.

All I have left to do now is run the wires properly for the rear camera, through that little rubber hose that houses other wiring. Not sure how to do that yet as I have not researched it. (If someone can post a link to a nice writeup that would be great

Hope this helps those of you looking to hard wire a dash cam in an X1.

Tools I used:

Along with:
a socket set for the ground screw under the dashboard
a screw driver to install the battery in the multimeter
needle nose plyers to pull the fuses out and push them back in
twist ties for the wires

I got a front and rear one... wired it at the same time I wired a reversing camera, so all under the carpet along the passenger's (UK) side, then up and into the glove box, power from fuses... back out and up the A pillar to the passenger's visor area - was a lot easier than I expected.

No, but I ran a Rexing one pretty easily. Used the cigarette power port under the passenger glove box. Ran wire under headliner, down A pillar and under passenger footwell area. BMW one is pricey and has the same functionality as other cheaper 3rd party brands.
