Seats and headrests on X1

Hi everybody X1 owners!
I've got 20i MSport 2020. I'm satisfied in generaal, but one thing is terrible. The headrest of my sportchair sticks the back of my head. I can't regulate neither the hight of it (7-8 cm, not more), nor the lean degree. Have anyone found regulated headrest for X1? May be from any other model of BMW?

I assume you have already tried raising the headrest as high as possible so the top part is not against the back of your head.

You can also buy a headrest pillow that wraps around the metal extensions to support your neck.

I found the head rest uncomfortable and got a neck pillow. Was a great improvement.

Yes, I know I can order a pillow, but it doesn't solve the problem. It won't give additional height for the headrest. I wonder if no one faced such problem. I've found studio of autodesign in my city. They're ready to sew over any headrest with BMW nappa leather and to made blue stitching as original headrest for modest money 40 eur for both. I tried to find headrests from other models of BMW; ones from series 3, 5, x3 don't match (width of pins and angle of notches differ). So the question is: has anybody tried to inserts some other headrests from other BMW models or other car brands into X1 chairs?

If you can get a company to remove the coverings down to the frames you could get the frames extended and angled and then recovered. Frames may need rechroming if addittional pieces welded.

It's a realy big reconstruction of my original headrests) I didn't want to damage them... I've found some sites where used headrests of other BMW models are available for purchase. The quest is to find suitable one)

Ford replacement really fitting?

Hello Sadalekseji,

i have the same issue and i have inquired with BMW: they do not exchange any parts from the seat and also do not help with it. I have also inquired with an independent repair shop: they may do it, but need the numbers of the seat from X1 and from the new spare part. Plus after doing the change the new arrangement must be certified by TÜV in germany, or the car will not pass TÜV.

two questions, please:
1. why do you think, that this Ford headrest will fit the X1? The Metal poles are obviously different.
2. do you know the ordering number of this part from Ford?
