You never really know how hard someone is trying. I had some fun with an A4 the other night and the x2 had no problems walking on it. I havent been too mean to the car yet, trying to follow the break in rules.

Got some Chemical Guys stuff in the mail Thursday and finally had a sunny day so both the X2 and the Volt got a nice bath and wax yesterday.
I finally got all the water spots off the stupid cerium grey stuff, that color is extremely hard to keep clean! I'm hoping it will stay spot-free for a bit. We plan on eventually getting paint correction and ceramic coating done but my driveway is not the place for that, too many trees and junk floating in the air to keep everything clean! |

Nice pics of a nice X2! On a side note, we had the previous gen Volt on a lease a few years ago.
Sealed, polished and waxed our X2, and Rain X'd all the the windows just in time to get mesmerized by the rain beads running over the hood and windshield today! |

Going to look at the 7 m35i in stock at the dealer tomorrow.. But started to build online to see the options. Is it true you cannot have the active cruise control option with the heated seats? They are listed in the premium package but it only lets you click one or the other! I also can't believe that the dynamic handling is a $500 option and literally nobody gets it. Only one out of 7 of the cars have it. I sort of wanted to get a better deal by not building. I guess we'll see if I can drive both models. Also funny nobody picks the grey color. I have never seen it anywhere even at the dealer.

Yup I'm sold.. I'll drink the Kool-aid. Drove it today and I love it. Yes it has a little less grunt than what I currently have, but boy that sport mode really does remap it to something much much more zippy and mean!
I took it out in regular comfort mode and was thinking in my head.. boy it better step up since it's identical to the X1 that my wife drives. Sports mode was a pleasure. I had the windows down to hear the exhaust, did some decent s curves and pushed it a little, but not too crazy and it's definitely something I can live with as a new upgrade. It sucks that the display is only partially digital, while waiting I saw literally every 2020 fancy model car that had full electronics inside etc, and they were pretty eye catching. Along with the 5 Series and up with their stitched seats. The m-sport seats, however, in this X2 are nice. I'm swinging at them hard and they made me some price offers which I'm now looking at. There's a blue one that has a few less options that I kind of want. But, there's a white one that's only a teeny bit more that has MORE options that I wanted (closer to fully loaded). And unfortunately the deal is going to be better for an in-stock car. BMWUSA has a 2750 rebate on financed cars right now that expires in 7 days so now it's got my wheels turning faster. To me that's a pretty huge discount, and to lose it might suck. I'm going to the local BMW drive event this weekend.. anyone hear of any extra codes etc? Anyone mind sending me a private message on pricing? I can send back what deal I am pushing for which to me sounds pretty solid. |

I sent you a message.
Congrats to you too! This thing really is a sleeper and one legit, good length review could blow our secret wide open. |

I hope we get some tuning support soon but I wonder how close to being tapped out this platform is. We know b48s that arent internally modified are getting near the output of our cars but I wonder how far it could go. Im thinking 360hp should be possible but I fear it will become a lag monster since we already have nearly 23lb boost.
The looming issue for x1/2 owners doing mods is the transmission. The x28 trans is only rated to stock torque while the m35i unit has a little wiggle room at 354 ft lb or 480nm. Last edited by billnchristy; 04-24-2019 at 08:34 AM.. |

So I found out today my car is actually at the VPC in Baltimore, it never was the PA dealer. I should have it next week Monday or Tuesday. The upside as far as I can tell is no one took it out for a test drive (like I did with the one at my dealer). I am convinced I would be completely unbearable to be around if I did a build with a 10 -12 week wait.

FYI I got mine for less than the discounted ones on the lot and I built it. I got lucky with timing and was able to get BMW incentives that weren't available when I ordered it.
Windows tinted. I need to install my new grills still.
