VRSF vs Phoenix Intakes

Hello everyone. I'm thinking about purchasing an intake for my F82. I'm debating between the VRSF and the Phoenix intakes at the links below. What have your experiences been?

VRSF

Phoenix

I know there are more expensive set-ups as well as front-mount designs, but I don't think that spending the $500 or $1000+ on an intake is a good decision unless the other parts of the car have been modded.

I also know neither is going to give me performance increases, I'm just in this for the WHOOOOOSH and the eye candy (VRSF also comes in polished aluminum).

At the end of the day, intakes are just tubes with some filters clamped to them. Am I wrong in assuming that I'm better off saving the extra $300-$800+ for useful mods, or are the more expensive set ups actually worth it?

On a side note - how much of an issue is heat soak due the open-air engine bay design with aluminum pipes vs the stock closed-air plastic design? I know it's causing a little undue stress, but how much?

Thank you!

We have the VRSF intakes on the shop's M4. Sounds great

They are probably more similar than different. Both Chinese made pipes. BMS gives you USA made filters, same ones from a BMS intake, if you purchase the Phoenix intake from them though.

Yeah. I'm leaning towards VRSF at the moment because of the Phoenix's wierd MAF sensor location on the driver's side intake...

I really like the blue filters though...

I believe they moved it to a more straight part of the piping to get a "better" signal. If the signal is bad you'll get poor cold idle.

Eventuri for the real looks. End of day bit of waste. Just put k&n in and pull carbon filters and you get 85% benefit of most aftermarket.

Yeah I thought about this but for $70 more than BMC filters or $100 more than K&Ns I can get a full intake...
