'21 X2 M35i's?
Good evening folks! Just droppin a quick line to see who already has the '21 X2 M35i out there and their initial thoughts. Anyone been able to compare previous MY's to the '21? Are there any significant changes from one to the next? I just placed my order on Wednesday 28 October and will provide as much detail as anyone cares to have when I have it to share.

One fella here posted his a month or two ago. I think there were minimal changes but one that I remember is that the fog lights are now integrated with the headlight assembly.

Congrats on the order, will need specs and pics or it didn't happen. Just kidding are you doing PCD? or just just ordering for a friendly dealer delivery. I love my 2019, probably top 1 or 2 for favorite cars.

PCD is performance center delivery at the factory (not ours) in South Carolina, look it up it looks like a real blast. driving school for a day plus red carpet treatment. It is on my list of things to do for my next car, won't be talked out of it next time like I was this time. I was mostly referring to pics of the car when you get it but that was cool too.
you are really going to enjoy the car, great color too Last edited by rounderman; 11-05-2020 at 07:15 AM.. |

I had been tempted a few times to do the PCD.. once when my brother got his car, and both times I bought my cars it just wasn't a good time for me to do it. I still want to see if I can hit any of the "m performance" schools.

m track days
I did the 1/2 day M track day in 2019 and yes it is so a ton of fun. I had never driven on a track before have to say well worth it plus in NY it was at Monticello which just happens to be near a casino. four hour drive from where I live. made a great overnight trip for me.
if you get a chance do it. |

It’s a great tour and the m school folks know how to drive and pretty much push you as hard as you will allow.

Ah ok! Performance Center Delivery! Nah, I think I'll likely pass. I have been extraordinarily fortunate over the years. I was stationed (Air Force) in Germany for 3 years (2014-2017). Over that stretch I was able to order not 1 but TWO BMW's! First was a 15 M235i, and later the MONSTER (to me anyway) I got the M4! SHIT I LOVED THAT CAR! Got to spend 3 years on the Autobahn in M cars. I also got to do the "M Power Tour" through Germany... wanna say in 2016. Spectacular experience. Got to check out the BMW museum a time or three, so I think I'll keep the few extra dollars in my pocket for now.
Sadly, had to part way with the M4 when I got back stateside... not great for the mid-west winters. Made a huge mistake and got into a Q3... we don't talk about those dark days. Anyway, finally got out to Colorado, currently drivin my JCW around the twisties through the mountains and absolutely love it! My boss says it's time to move to something a lil bigger to accommodate our eventualities. She's super supportive and is all about the X2 M35i... "So long as it makes you happy!" Damn I got a good one! Can't wait to get the new wheels. |

First thanks for your service, second the car has a lot of practicalities including car seat anchor points, I am well past that but as we both know the boss is always right. It also is great in snow even in upstate NY (real upstate like western NY)
hope you get what you want in a timely fashion |

We picked up my wife's 2021 X2 M35i from our local dealer about two weeks ago. Fun little car, although the tires are a little too small for what the car can actually do. Accidentally slid it around a corner on dry pavement a few days ago. LOL
The Stone Bay Metallic color is amazing, especially with the Red/Black interior. |

^^^Actually, I’d be very interested in a comparison.
The Mrs wants a new SUV. Looking at X2 M35i, X3M, MB GLA 45 AMG or the C 43 AMG. Maybe another Macan? Cheers, B

Please do provide a comparison; I'm especially interested in the response delay people complain about in the X2 M35i at times (there's a long thread on it) that can be dangerous. I've actually read similar stories from X3M owners, but it would be nice to have your thoughts. I've always assumed it was transmission programming coupled with engine programming likely needed to meet some emissions cycle evaluation. Apparently using sport more all the time alleviates most of it?

That's not the impression overall that I can glean from the thread on the subject with those mods.

My wife is extremely sensitive (as am I) to car control issues, so she simply wants a 6spd manual in the X2 M35i which of course will never exist unfortunately. One reason I couldn't convince her to get the DCT on the M2 Comp. We both also hate the E91 we have since it's an auto and actually exhibits similar transmission programming although of course being an N/A no turbo lag.
