Is anyone else having throttle issues??
About a month ago I purchased a X2 M35i and so far it's been an amazing car. A couple days after the purchase I was at a stop light to turn left. There was a gap big enough for me to turn before and oncoming truck can come. As I put my foot on the throttle the car just wouldn't go at all and nearly caused me and accident. Fast forward to yesterday I was at a turn and I had also a big enough cap for me to go ahead before on coming traffic came. Same exact thing happened to me and I have been worried as it could cause me to get into an accident. I am wondering if anyone else is have this issue??

I have had it happen in a 328 loaner. Scared the living hell out of me. I actually had to shift to park and back to drive though.

Were you standing still when it happened or you nearly coming to a complete stop? I have had the same issue a couple times when I nearly coming to a complete stop, then I change to sport gear (not sport mode), It never happen again. Its probably we are using the DCT but you guys in the US having 8AT should be another story.

turn off ie code via bimmercode auto engine off, or press button to deactivate auto off, button next to start engine button. led on means auto stop start is deactivated.
that is your problem. |

I have noticed that when I don't mash the pedal but lean into it gently there is virtually no lag and the car moves right out. I run sport mode but not in the transmission just plain old drive. Have not tried it in sport or manual yet

I pressed the accelerator around 30-40% it just felt more like the engine completely stalled or died on me.

I've put it in Sport mode and it doesn't happen. It just happens in Comfort but still I shouldn't have to go and put my car in Sport all the time to make sure my car doesn't feel like it's turning off.

It sounds like you have more than just the standard hesitation issues. I’d definitely have them look at it.

Just recently dropped it off at the dealer. The head of service department, which I've known for many years, told me that it's very strange that it's happening. I also mentioned the solutions that you all suggested and told me that shouldn't be the case where you always have to be in sport mode with Manuel mode activated in order for it not to happen. He told me they are going to look into it and see what's wrong with the whole situation. I'll keep you all updated.

I’ve heard that the torque converter disconnects at idle in comfort and eco. Maybe yours is having issues or not getting the signal to connect. It doesn’t happen in sport so it could explain the problem.

Possibly but have no clue as of now. Seems odd BMW would release a product that has such an issue as that.

The X1 forum had a bunch of people with similar issues.. some way worse than others. My wife's X1 has this similar hesitation as well in comfort mode. My m35i, however I can really feel the transmission disengaging in comfort etc. So much that when I come to a nice slow stop, sometimes it disconnects the transmission just at the same time I let off the brake to have that smooth stop.. and it makes it a pretty choppy slowdown. Very awkward to say the least. I'm just running on sport mode all the time. I too have thought about getting the pedalbox/pedal tuner.
