Service Schedule / Costs
We are about to take delivery of an X1 SDrive20i MSport.
Not sure if the monthly service plan is a good idea as I'm unaware of the service schedule. Could anyone detail what I'll need assuming 9000 per year and include costs? (UK) Thanks |

My x2 has a service schedule of
lube, oil, filter at 1 year, 12,000 miles, I can't see anything being needed in year 1, so take that into consideration. |

I run a budget account for all my regular household bills including car, VED, insurance, servicing, breakdown, etc. I work out how much this will cost monthly and then transfer the amount from my main account monthly into the budget account and so do not have to worry about large bills because I pay out of the said account. When I collect my X1 xDrive 2.0i M Sport in a few months' time, I will ask the dealer (Oxford) the cost of the large service and do the appropriate transfer of monies from main to the budget account.

I've owned my X1 (xLine 20i xDrive) from new when I ordered it back in 2016, and collected it mid-July 2016. I've averaged around 8,000 miles per year and my four-year PCP finance is coming to an end in a couple of months. I didn't take out a service plan, but the servicing costs over the last few years have been as follows:
Apr 2018 - 1st Oil service, inspection - £295 Apr 2018 - 2x new tyres (after 15,000 miles) - £350 Jun 2019 - Year 4 Extended warranty - £411 Jul 2019 - Brake fluid change, 1st MoT - £170 Jan 2020 - 4x new tyres, wheel alignment - £700 Feb 2020 - 2nd Oil service, spark plugs, microfilters - £420 I've got to replace the front brake pads pretty soon, and possibly the discs as well. In the first 3 years, the service costs (exc. tyres) was just the first oil service (£295), with the brake fluid change right at the beginning of year 4. Hope that helps! My own 20i new March 2018 (bought used in July 2018 2100 miles)
1st Oil Service. May 2019. 18147 miles 2 new tyres. February 2020. 29220 miles cost £309.91 I get the 4 wheel alignment carried out on both cars every 6 months due to the state of the roads. The cost of service ---- I was quote £285 for the service but was recommended to take the 3yr/36000 mile service at £295 in the hope of fitting another service into the 36,000 (services can be done 1250miles early this one done 1210 miles early.) Since then I have found that the car was originally sold as a Mobility car and was supplied with a 4 year/60,000 mile service pack. I have been not able to reclaim the money I paid for the 3 year package. Neither of the service packs shows up on the "on-line" web site. I have the service Schedule but do not know how to attach it. July 2020? Typing error? We are in May 2020 as I type.
Is that carried out by BMW or another? What was/is the cost?

Perhaps take a photo and upload it that way if you have not got a printer/scanner

I get the 4 wheel check done on a Hunter rig.
The only time I asked the BMW dealer for a price I can not recall what the figure was but I could not believe they were serious. That was back in 2017, i have been informed they can now be competitive if tell them who you are going to use. At present I use two local companys in North Wales . They charge differently 1 in the region of £65 for the check and one set of adjustments The other charges £35 plus about £30 per adjustment. I prefer the one that charges £65 as they correctly add weights into the car prior to resetting, but they are further away and busy---- but they have nice coffee. Makes a nice trip out with top off Z3. The location I prefer did one check FoC when I had two tyres fitted, not the ajustment. I already have the service schedule in the computer , but I do not know how to attack it to this site . |
