You were correct, X1 tailgate do not close with keyfob, it needs to be coded.

I'm pretty new to this concept of coding, but very much curious to do it. Can anyone suggest, where should I start and what do I need to do it.

Ditto above. An equipment list and step by step guide would be brilliant (as basic as possible please )

I still would like to change Auto Stop settings.

Best to go to the last page of the thread (It's a very busy thread!), and find a post from a guy called Shawn. PM him and he'll send links to up to date versions of the software and some very good instructions. You'll need to google for cheat sheets for the F56 (Which is the nearest to the F48) - best to look at several, as the information is presented in different ways by different people who generally assume more knowledge than a newbie like myself.

I found it helped to connect to the car and play with the software a few times to see what happened before actually coding anything. Also a good idea to save all the CAFD files (You'll know what this means when you read the instructions!) so that you can look at them offline to see what the actual settings on your car already are (The F56 cheat sheets are for a MINI, so the starting point for some codings are different - I found some were already set on my car).

I got my cable from Amazon in the UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It seems well made & works fine.

Which target chassis did you use in Esys - F56 ? or something else ?
I've seen in some forums, F48 doesn't conform to the F56 cheat sheet entirely.

F56 is the one to go for. As I said above, I found it helped to save the existing files, then use the viewer in E-SYS to check the existing codings on my car (And where they were located) before working out what to code.

Anyone any idea why you can't close the tailgate with the key fob in the US? In the UK you can do it holding down the tailgate button on the fob.

I hate having to turn on heat for steering wheel and seats every time I get into the car when it's cold period of the year. Is there a way to code so it remembers last used settings after shut-off?

Hi Vogit,

Today was my first coding session, I was successful in coding following:

1. Close windows, sunroof & mirror from key fob. (Tested OK)
2. Change Triple-Blink Count to blink 5 times. (Tested OK)
3. Enable Illumination of Exterior Door Handle LEDs when in Reverse. (Tested OK)
4. Set cell phone ringer as primary. (Tested OK)
5. Enable Video Files from USB (Need to know the supported formats to play one).
6. Add GPS Current Location to Navi Menu Items. (Not sure where to see for it).
7. Air Re-Circulating (But actually wanted to set to Manual Re-circulation, probably settings should be changed 3003MEMORY_UMLUFT -> nicht_aktiv ?)
8. Add Digital Speed to LCD Display via BC button.(Tested OK)
9. Turn on Brake Force Flashing with Hard Braking (Yet to test).
10. DVD-in-Motion activated (But don't believe F048 can read DVD so unable to test).
11. Close/Open Rear Hatch from Fob & Kick Panel. (Tested OK)
12. Enable Curb and Grass Detection for Lane Departure Warning System (Not sure what extra feature will this add to the lane departure - yet to test, will it monitor grass instead of white lines? ).
13. Enable Rear-View Camera at all Speeds (Not sure how to use it, as rear camera is shown only on Reverse Gear).

Following was coded but didn't work:
1. Enable Turn Signals in HUD. (HU: 3001HUD_TURNSIGNAL set to: aktiv)
2. Turn off MMI when door is opened -> BDC : 3020  TCM_LOGIC_R_OFF_DOOR = aktiv 01

This function was not found at all:
1. Unlock Doors on Engine OFF -> BDC: 3040  VAM_UNLOCK_KL15OFF_AFTER_PIA_AUTO_LOCK = aktiv 01 (Did anyone else found it in F048 ?).

Next: Curious to learn about the HK equalizer settings, hence saved the CAFD files into my laptop and need to know if there is any software available to read the CAFD files in offline mode, to do research on the Harmon Kardon Equalizer settings.

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

HK L7 Equalizer

Hi,

After going through the CAFD files in offline mode, following modules look to be related:

1. CAFD_00000DED_003_015_007.ncd -> 3002 AUDIO_TUNER_TRAFFIC, 96

Logic7_Symbol
Audio_System_VAR
Audio System
Amplifier Variant
Multichannel
Audio Signal Routing

2. CAFD_00000DBD_001_007_000.ncd -> 3000 EQSetting

But not sure for the values for these settings, which enables the Logic7 EQ in iDrive .

Any help or any source to get this info ?

It's in the BDC module, 3023 TCM_MSA_MEMORY set to aktiv, werte 01

I haven't done this, so can't vouch for it working, but all the sources I've seen seem to agree this is the way to do it.

Remember to back everything up before trying

I tried to code turn signal in hid several times but couldn't get it working. I am currently trying to figure out a way to code the corner lights to stay on when in high beam mode.

  • HKFM > TASTER_FBD = aktiv
  • HKFM > SCH_FBD = aktiv

Use BDC_BODY > CLI_DEFAULT_UNLOCK_AFTER_END_OF_DRIVING instead. It can be set to either "nur_nach_v_verriegeln" (which works just like VAM_UNLOCK_KL15OFF_AFTER_PIA_AUTO_LOCK: the doors are unlocked only if they were auto-locked) or "aktiv" (the doors are unlocked whether they were auto-locked or manually locked).

The default setting for US cars is "nicht_aktiv", while the default setting for EU cars is "nur_nach_v_verriegeln".
