Smile New to me F48 - Snap-in Adapter Question

Hi all, I just traded up from a 84 to a 48, and love it!!!

2016 xdrive28, Tech (6NS Confirmed), DA+,

When I bought it there were two issues:

1. Resolved: The ConnectedDrive was inoperable, no traffic, no remote services, no SOS button. (This was sorted by the dealer performing a software update and a TCB replacement.)

2. What was not resolved: The snap-in adapter not accepting any modules.

I have tried two that I had from the E84, an iPhone 5s, and a ‘BMW Snap-in Adapter for Apple with Lightning Connector’ with both I have the following symptoms:

Snap-in attached phone not connected: iDrive shows unsupported
Snap-in attached phone connected: iDrive shows not connected

I originally figured that the TCB would resolve both, however the issue persists.

The Service Advisor tried to push me off by saying that I should just connect via Bluetooth. But that doesn’t seem right?

Any help is appreciated. I love the car, and can’t wait to support the forum any way I can.

Thanks!

Bluetooth IS the answer. I find the new version of BT much easier to use and with much better sound quality than B4. But a connector should be good to allow you to charge your iPhone?

Got it, thanks.

Will check it out, was originally apprehensive to using the Bluetooth due to the implementation in the First Gen X1, but if thats the best option, and will provide similar sound quality from the HK system as wired, then that works.

Thanks for your input.

Wifi wireless Apple CarPlay fixes that problem. Much better quality than Bluetooth.

Yeah! I wish, but got the old system, and want to keep the remote ConnectedDrive systems.

Any way of upgrading without loosing the remote services yet?
