I am thinking of buying the Airstream 16X travel trailer with gross towing weight of 3500 pounds.

I cannot find the towing capacity of my vehicle. I reside in the Bay Area in California, USA.

I appreciate any pointers.

F48 X1 is not published in North America as being able to tow a vehicle. In Europe a trailer hitch option is available and is published as rated to 2000kg / 4400Lbs for a braked trailer/RV. I'm told our North American X1's do come prepped with brake wiring already.

In Europe, if you specify a tow hitch for OE build or if you have BMW dealer fit it after build, the spec includes an additional engine fan, not just the tow hitch and electrics. If you specify at build time the identical tow hitch and electrics as part of the bike rack prep, you don't get the additional engine fan.

I tow my 1700kg boat (race yacht) on a regular basis with a Thule tow bar fitted by the dealer.

Doesn't bother that car one bit.
