X1 (F48) daytime LED - only half ring is white?!

Hello,
Recently I noticed that only one half of daytime LED ring on my X1 2018 with 5A4 type of headlihgts is white, on the left light is ok and there are no error or warning light on dash.
The dealer told me that the LED headlight can not be repaired and only the full change is possible. Warranty is expired so the price for OEM part can go up to 2k € .

I know that is bearly visible and it is not a big deal but it’s realy annoying everytime I see it.

Does anybody have any experience with repairing this type of LED lights??

Not possible unless its a specific module damage that is repairable. Had the same thing in my 530e, had to replace the entire thing.

If this happens in the X1, I'll buy those $800-900 aliexpress full LED ones. They look like the adaptive headlights with the double headlights look and are just plug and play.

there may be 2 places where you need to check

the first picture. check if your light guiding strip if it was burnt. if yes....you need to replace the whole headlight. however, if you got someone can open the headlight and change the guiding strip. then you may save some money

the second picture. check the led chip if it is changed colour. if yes, just change the whole led module.

Yes, it's the same thing. I fixed mine today.
One of the led chips had a burned film over it which I cleaned with alcohol (I will check it in a while and replace the module if it's damaged).
Also, the burned strip can be easily fixed (depending on the damage of course). You can use a Dremel to clean the burned part. I used a very thin drill bit and it worked. The Angel eyes are as new now. No need to spend 1000 euro for a new headlight.

Why would it burn out? Should we lower the brightness of the rings?
