X2 M35i Exhaust Flap
Hey all, just picked up a 2019 X2 M35i and enjoying it so far. Previously had a 2018 X3 M40i and absolutely loved it, but it was totaled a couple of weeks ago.
One trick I loved with the X3 was having the exhaust flap permanently stay open by pulling a fuse once the flap was open. Can this be done with the X2 M35i? Have seen posts on clips, unplugging, etc. but hoping to do it as clean as possible with a simple fuse-pull. Thanks in advance! |

Interested in your comparison. I have a 19 M40 and considering an M35.

The tech is outdated in my 2019. Biggest issue is no blind spot detection which annoys the Boss and no Android Auto. Overall I am pretty happy with my version so much so I bought it off lease a year ago and in no rush to replace it. The new one coming out this fall is somewhat of a redesign, which will be interesting. Better tech. The current version has limited slip at both ends, I have no problems in winter without snows just the standard all seasons. Good Luck |

Thank you! I test drove one and really liked its lower stance - in between my previous M240 and current M40. Not only for driving/handling, but also near perfect for getting in/out too. I hear you regarding blind spot monitoring lol. Based on the images of the ‘24 x2 it looks more like a baby x4 which I don't really like so would like to grab a ‘20-‘23 x2 with the LSD and sport seats (which are very cool for a non full M ride). I would also swap out the rf tires almost immediately to help limit rear slip. Have fun with yours and thanks again

That being said, I am liking the m35i a lot. It’s quick, feels more car-like, and though much smaller the cargo area is manageable. I also got much better seats in the X2 and the appearance is a little bit more aggressive. However the engine (I turn ASD off in all of my bimmers) and exhaust notes from the M40i were much stronger and aggressive, which is probably a given based on the different engines. And in response to this thread… I was able to get both flaps open on start up/at all times by pulling fuse 49 while the car was on and in Sport mode. |
