You're right about longevity potential; however, the quoted 305 hp is for the manual JCW Mini. With the automatic, it's 10-15 hp less.

Another bump.

Anyone leasing their X1 and using a tuning box? Still have a few years left with this car and want to improve throttle response in comfort mode, add a few hp and not have a tune detectable when I bring it in for service.

I had a Dinan sport box when I had my X1. Most of the time i don't even bother removing it before dropping it off for service. No one ever said anything to me.

Btw PM me if you're interested in buying a Dinan sport box. Mines just collecting dust now since I don't have the car anymore.

I'm surprised there are still not more flash tunes available for this platform. It's now used in 2 series GC, 1 series, all the Minis.

Most tuners will use the flash tune used for the JCWs (assuming it is a USA based F48) since it is the same engine (231HP). You can find tunes from DervTech, Evolve, and many other UK based tuners as well as Bytetronik in the USA. Stage 1 will get you around 270-280 HP and stage 2 290-320 Hp depending on the PSI targets and internal mods.

One issue is that the latest BMW software updates have locked out tuners from remotely flashing via the OBD. You need a bench lock if you have the latest BMW software installed unfortunately.

But you’re right, there’s hardly anything marketed directly for the F48 esp when compared to the X3 and X5 markets.

Does anyone have any experience with having their 25d remapped?

From my understanding, the F48 X1 uses the Aisin AWF8F35 or AWF8F45 gearboxes, both have a max torque rating of 350Nm (260lb-ft) and 480Nm (350lb-ft) respectively. A stock 25d produces 227bhp with 450Nm (332lb-ft) of torque, which is already near the limit.

I've just checked a generic remap gains online and it's given some very optimistic gains - 291bhp, with 526Nm (388lb-ft) of torque. Even if the torque was much lower, the results would be way past the torque limit of the AWF8F45.

Anyone got any ideas of how I should proceed with a remap?

Wondering about same question about 25d and gearbox torque limit.
Engine has much untapped potential, but the gearbox is the bottleneck
