I've ordered Mineral, but my F10 and a previous 1 Series we had are both Alpine. Both lovely, but Mineral had a sparkle to it on a sunny day that just makes it pop and look more special imo...

I agree. MW is much better, shame it's not offered across the board. It certainly makes the lines of the car pop more.

Every BMW owner should own at least one Alpine White BMW. It kinda an iconic color.

I'd only get AW if I couldn't get MW.

I have one of each. I actually prefer the alpine as it is a real white. That said the MW is a cool colour and changes with the light

Thx for the comparo pics!

I love the Alpine White, but already driving an AW F30 M-Sport so decided to get another colour or look too similar. The whites bring out the lines of the car so nicely. Yummy.

Don't mean to rain on anyone's parade here...but I thought I'd share my thoughts on white.
22 Months ago I bought a new M135i. I'd wanted to get it in white, but my wife had only just got a 116i in Alpine white, so vetoed me getting white too!

Anyway, my thoughts are now turning to something more practical and comfortable - an X1.
Again, white was my initial choice of colour until - I went into a local dealership and they had an Alpine White X1 right next to a Mineral Grey X1, both with similar spec.

I have to say, as much as I thought I'd be saving £550 and getting my "ideal" colour (Alpine white) I thought the MG X1 looked like a whole better class of car - like it would cost £1000s more than the white one.

I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder - but I would seriously suggest you try to get to see the X1 "in the flesh" in a variety of colours before choosing one.

Horses for courses and colour is always subjective. I like MG but wouldnt buy it as I think all metallic greys are a bit boring....and I am an accountant

+1 I would never buy grey, just too middle management company car colour imo... I would much rather have black or a very dark blue like the Carbon Black I had on my E70.

However saying that I would not have had an X Line in AW or MW, the plastic parts do make these look odd in light colours and you don't get the contrast the silver parts on this model provide on darker colours.

Out of interest which model line were you looking at?

I think the new F48 looks too much like a jacked up station wagon in lighter colors like white and silver. It looks much more like a CUV/SUV and aggressive in the darker color.

I don't want to sound like too much of a fool here - but - which one is MW and which one is AW - 163 v 578.

This is the first time I have seen the same car side by side in the two whites so a special thanks to hart4bmw.

BTW - this fool has Mineral White on order
