F48 X1 gets exposed in China
BIMMERPOST NEWS F48 X1 gets exposed in China Increasingly, China has become a source of undisguised new BMW models. The last F48 X1 exposure revealed the front end and headlights, but now we have the full monty. These new photos reveal nearly the entire car. The F48 X1 rides on BMW's UKL platform and will come in both FWD and AWD models while engine offerings will range from 3 to 4 cylinders. Our 2016 model map shows that the US will receive both a sDrive25i and xDrive25i. Production of the sDrive25i begins in November 2015 and xDrive25i in July. Our previous spy photos of the F48 X1 exterior and interior. Image source: Autohome |

I really like the look of this thing and might have tried it out after my F30, but FWD? No thanks. I know a sh1tbox like the 2-series active tourer fits better on FWD platform, but it's a damn shame the 1-series and X1 is heading down that path as well :

Looks better than the original model. Personally, I think all X-Models should just have xDrive. BMW advertises these models as being used in a variety of environments so they should just use xDrive. Who buys a SAV/SUV for FWD or RWD?
