damn that sucks. hopefully all just cosmetic damage. looks like your car was wrapped already which might help save the paint.
luckily it missed those $10k wheels!

How bad is the damage underneath? I would document before moving anything. Popo report + insurance claim if you decide to go that route. Or you may be able to hire a PDR guy if it doesnt require a repaint.
I experienced the same thing almost 10 years ago now with the tree landing on the front of the hood area of a prior vehicle. There were maybe half a dozen quarter+ sized dimples on the hood. My deductible was around $1k and the PDR quote came out to around $800. Paid cash for the PDR instead, and whipped out a buffer to get the scratches out ~90% minus the deeper ones. Not perfect, but no hit on my carfax either. |

I was going to say "Back Up..." Is it your house? If so, i'd take lots of pictures before moving the car. See if you can get some friends to lift the tree off the car and roll it backwards as opposed to just pulling out, because if any branches are pushing on the car, they will scrape like crazy or even gouge in when you start moving.
Hopefully when you get it out, it won't be too bad. Hopefully. |

You need a tree removal company to come out and lift the tree. Do not roll it off the car. That will cause more damage. New headlights for sure. They will be scratched to hell. You will have dents. I can guarantee that.

It would appear that the stick put in to hold the tree rotted out.
And at least here in Illinois if they can prove you knew the tree was dying, insurance won't cover damage from the tree fallling.

So sad to see that
If the damage is big enough you should try doing the diminished value claim. I am actually trying to find a specialist myself right now. Anyone can suggest someone in Bay Area, CA? |
