Garage List
Keep in mind we have lower compression, different pistons and beefier bottom end than a regular b48 so I don’t think that’s a problem

And a much larger turbo, I don't think making 400whp is out of question once tuning and aftermarket support comes.

So I went on some errands yesterday. Map 2, Stock Airbox and Filter. Decided to log all of it. After reviewing it today, everything seems to be in-line without issue from everything I've looked at prior. And I did pay close attention that my Koso Boost Gauge is indeed in-line with what the JB4 shows on the App live and in logs. I attached the .zip file for anyone interested.

How come your boost shows up in the 22's? I thought the Map2 should aim for a little bit higher even if you're at 62F? Your timing looks pretty darned good though.

I couldn't mash the pedal yesterday. That's probably why.

I made it to "fuel reserve" the other day and filled up with Mobil gas 93 octane. I was going to swap the intake, but too busy today to do it. Plus.. might as well give it a chance to circulate through the car. I plan on changing the intake tonight or tomorrow morning and romping on it on the way to work again... I am crossing my fingers for good results..

Big bummer... nope it doesn't like the intake... AFR lean and failsafe. Boy does the intake sound better though... I miss it! It would be nice to see if a drop-in filter will work out.. can't wait to hear results. I'm in for the nicer intake sounds and crackles too though. So it appears that when the temps are a lot warmer it doesn't make a difference, but when the air temp is into the 60's it'll be unhappy. I guess also to be noted I drive pretty nice in the winter time as I don't think I've hit the failsafe from last winter and was happy running map 6 custom. I'm going to put the stock intake back on and go back to map2.

Drove the car today. Errands. 45 Degrees.

JB4 with Map 2. No issues.

Two really good runs with Pedal Tuner.

1. Green, zeroed.

2. Orange, zeroed.

The power was excellent with both.

The attached .zip / graphs are quite interesting - looks different than without the Pedal Tuner installed (i.e. or at White, zeroed).

Thoughts?

After I put the stock air filter back in I decided to rip off that white cotton pre-filter as billnchristy took off a while ago. Zero difference noticed in sound.. logs also show no real change.. and no failsafe from afr lean or overboost. I'm in to see how that pipercross filter does! Or I'll wait for maybe a K&N version to come out.. not sure exactly how I feel about multi-layer foam. Back in the day it there were some questionable thoughts.. but who knows...

Return JB+. You need 3 or 4 lead sensor setup on this engine. PERIOD.

Ooof I wonder if it's that pipercross filter.. low 70's is not cold at all! Otherwise, maybe your car wasn't quite hot enough for oil temp? That will throw it into map8 as well.

I emailed pipercross USA, they said they won't carry the filter, and I tried to email pipercross UK, but no response yet. My main question was about buying the filter cleaners (either aerosol or just spritz bottle) But it says not suitable for export, so I would think it might not ship to USA. I'm just patiently waiting for a response since I'm not rushing to get the filter anymore..

Won't get that without a true flash. You can't tune a car without boost control and fuel/spark. The 3 connectors we get currently with the jb4 isn't doing anything clearly. I'm waiting for the BM3 flag to become available.
