also can't believe how slow and unraceable it is
would rather do this lap in a Honda Civic or a Toyota Yaris! Last edited by G30M; 08-12-2022 at 01:39 PM.. |

I believe I read somewhere that this record was done with a Euro-Only package on the Taycan? Either way impressive, although don't know how many Taycan owners are tracking their cars.

Model S is lighter than an RS 6 Avant and in the ballpark of the AMG E63. So if you can do it in these other cars with their higher CGs, you can certainly do it in the Taycan and Model S. As long as they put good enough brakes on, except you can always overpower brakes by simply going too fast/braking late.

"The 2023 model year Taycan Turbo S benefited from a new performance kit including lightweight 21-inch wheels, high-performance Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tyres, and a software update allowing its electronically controlled suspension to make the most of the new rubber."
Apparently Plaid was on stock tyres iirc. Plaid will be back no doubt. I wonder if Bugatti Rimac is interested ... |

Wasn't the Tesla like stripped down and on R-Comps?

I watched the Tesla video just after the Taycan vid. That Tesla looks mighty unruly. Also, I've driven a Plaid and the brakes can hardly handle a couple of back to back launches. How the F do those same brakes handle the Green Hell? sus
