Hi I had my rear one dealer replaced, but it was expensive, so when I had a new front screen fitted I decided to replace the fronts with the Bosch OEM part perfect fit no adapters required, and in my opinion better than the originals £23.50 for the pair, I wouldn't use anything else

Bosch ones are very good. Front and rear were less than £30 on Amazon, and took less than 2 minutes to install all of them. You need to put the wipers in service mode first:
1. Switch the ignition on and off again. 2. With icy conditions make sure that blades are not frozen to the windshield. 3. Press the wiper lever up beyond the point of resistance and hold it for approx. 3 seconds, until the wiper remains in a nearly vertical position. After the wipers are folded back down, the wiper system must be reactivated. 1. Switch on the ignition. 2. Push wiper lever down. Wipers move to their resting position |

I was gonna avoid Bosch ones and go OEM. Reason is that on my previous car E92 LCI the Bosch vipers did not cover the same area as OEM. So Im a bit sceptical this time.
On the bottom of the windshield there was a little patch not covered by the vipers. I need to replace mainly the rear blade as its very noisy, its probaly the one from factory (12/2016) |

That's weird. Didn't BMW change them as part of the 3 years service/warranty? They changed my wipers once a year for free. They said it was included.

Rear ones tend to get deformed and squeaky/juddery by being parked and not used much, especially in summer. I've had some success just by removing it and turning it round.

Also, the judder problem is exacerbated by a build-up of grease/traffic grime. A good degreasing agent or Window cleaner can help. Also over a period of time, the rubber goes hard with age and this does necessitate replacement.

Thanks for the advice guys. Im planning a deep clean and polish of the front and rear glass, the vipers too. It might help. If not I'll turn around the rear blade as a last resort before I buy a new rear blade.

I used this product before with great results: https://www.chemicalguys.com/heavy-d...t-remover.html Around here, the rain (and pretty much all the water) contains a lot of minerals, so it's easy to have marks on the glasses. Use it after a clay bar treatment in the most difficult areas. Please, be aware it's really strong. Follow instructions carefully. Apply on a ventilated space, use gloves and facemask because it has a strong chemical smell. After you're done, you need to wash the glasses or apply a quick detailer to stop the chemical reaction: https://www.chemicalguys.com/speed-w...-detailer.html. Finally, you need to apply a sealant like this one: https://www.chemicalguys.com/jetseal...l-sealant.html.

If you bought standard Bosch ones from an auto store, did you get the right size? I've used Michelin wipers and change them every summer on my e82, they "updated" the wipers this past year as the plastic connectors/adaptors (they're universal blades for many cars) were clearly different and this time although I bought the same size, the blade seems to be a few mm short on the bottom and I can tell from the almost permanent streak the previous ones left. I'd say go with what works best, and last the longest but I've found the rubber plasticizes after about a year in my climate and the wipers start to make noise and leave streaks. |

The OEM wipers are crap. They squeal and leave dirty spots. I replaced mine with some cheap gas station brand and they perform much better

I have owned cars since 1963, and it has always been the case that degreasing the complete screen solves most of the problems unless the rubber has age hardened and they need replacing anyway.
The spots are normally grease/traffic film/oil and rubber residue. |
