Cruise control limit

Is it possible there is some max speed limit set for cruise control (F48 with 5AT and 5DF)? I enabled cruise control but it seems it wont let me set it for speed higher than 140km/h. Is it possible to “deactivate” the limit somehow or am I doing something wrong?

it’s probably a safety feature that limits it. On older BMW (e series) the max was 110 mph (180km/h), so maybe they lowered it to 140km/h.

I wonder if there is something in the owners manual that says anything about a maximum speed limit using cruise control? If you don't have the paper version...there's a digital version built into iDrive and it also has a keyword search feature. Look up cruise control and see if it is mentioned under any of the selections for "CRUISE" or "CRUISE CONTROL".

EDIT:..yep, its in the owners manual...but the online version only says it can vary...but I wonder if the iDrive owners manual is more specific?

Good point with the manual.

I checked BMW Guide app and there they say that the limit can be turned off in case distance control is switched off. So I am gonna try that out and report here afterwards.
