Just priced one out. MUCH better "value" than the 28i.

I like the macan.

Clearly two different types of cars. I don't put the them as competitors .
That's cause they're not competitors. The X4 is the direct competitor to the Macan.

I've seen about 4-5 on my travels but would have expected to have seen more considering how long it's been out now.

Totally agree. A reasonably optioned Macan will be atleast 15-20k more. A macan that is faster than x2 35m will be 30k more.

i drove the x2 28i at ultimate drive. While it was a perfectly decent normal car, its basically a mini cooper countryman S JCW all4.

I guess if people buy it and want it well, whatever more power to them, but I'm taking the same route porsche buyers have gone with macan/cayenne owners...

The more money bmw makes on people who wouldn;t otherwise have even bought anything from their old lineups of just 3/5/7 series the more r&d money is going to the RWD sports sedans/coupes we all want. If anything every dollar ROI they get out of the b48 design or shared infotainment systems etc in any vehicle, is another one that goes towards development of your 330i/m4/etc which shares a lot of parts

Same. We had one for a few days and it was just so stupid. Too small to have any semblence of practicality, too big to a a hot hatch. It screams lifted hot hatch but doesn't even do that job properly. Such a pointless vehicle.

The X1 is actually much better and doesn't give you a claustrophobic vibe in a car with an identity crisis.

I get also one as a loaner for 1 week and I really like it, even if I drive an F82, the X2 is really fun to drive, good looking and compared to the E84 of my wife, it will be a nice upgrade!

Wow. Ignorance is bliss. A Macan S with premium plus pkg is 60ish. Similarly equipped x2m35 (w/less hp and auto trans) is only a few grand less. But the Porsche has cooled seats and a better trans. All I was saying, is for that price if I was looking for a smaller suv, id go for the Macan.

When is the X1 M35i coming? That's a much more useful option for daily around town use.

Handsome vehicle; performance specs aren't impressive at all...give it the engine from M40i X3 V6 and then we can talk....

I6 you mean.

I think the lack of a true M, which is RWD based, is such a huge, missed opportunity...but I shouldn’t be surprised because the X3/4M are also underwhelming.

BMW can’t get out of their own way on some of these decisions.

Of course. For $1500 USD, they will code the car to produce ear splitting levels of a V10, V8, or F6. Because the engines in this car simply can’t.

But ignorance is bliss, right?

Personally I only use the cost for how I'd build a particular model. In my case I've actually been looking hard at a Macan GTS but my real-world MSRP is mid-$80k. Not a realistic competitor to an X2 M35i for me when I compare how I'd build each model.

Maybe I'll humor myself later and build a 4-cyl Macan and see how it compares.

BMW putting another nail in the M/// badge coffin. BMW just can't get enough "M" models out there.

Yep like expensive milk for your morning cereal.

My M2 now sounds like a pissed-off M4 GTS.
