This isn't to say there aren't idiot drivers in Europe, there are plenty. (They're called Italians). A good gauge is how they efficiently use the passing lane and promptly GTFO after they pass. The US is so bad with random people constantly hanging out in the left lane and backing up traffic, causing passive-aggressive accidents.

Definitely. On the Autobahn and other European highways, the left lane is actually the PASSING lane. Not to be occupied by slow or self centered drivers. Passing on the right is illegal in Europe. A lot safer that way...
It is in fact the law in most states in the US but not enforced by police (too busy ticketing for missing front plates).
European drivers do obey that rule and it sure saves a lot of lives at those speeds...

Wikipedia suggests it's a mixed bag if sorted by deaths per billion KM.

So to answer your question: maybe. Europeans also do not get to have big boy toys as much as us; V8's are a dime a dozen here. Most people only have to wield what like 150hp there? lol
Predictability in Germany is very subjective. You still have to be careful as Germans feel over-entitled at times. You'd see what i mean when you are doing 190 km/h on the A-Bahn and Oma Schmidt decides to jump in the passing lane at the last second with her VW Polo R edition at her sweet pace. At times the best brakes will not do...

Another thing is that Europe is a big place and for the most, like in the states there are no closed borders. What Germans consider not road worthy in regards to cars, Romanians, Bulgarians, Hungarians, Italians, Polish, ect-- think it’s in tip-top shape and road worthy. This is the reason you don't see many junk yards around Germany. All the decent projects are taken to East Europe somewhere where they are fixed and sold for top money.

The sweet spot as far as HP is anywhere between 120 -190. Your rarely see a V8’s around here. You do see a lot of I6 or V6 in Diesel format and to be honest they feel just like a V8 with the added benefits of diesel. In fact, some 6 cyl Diesels will give V8’s a run for their money.

Man, Im glad for be blessed with a V8 German car
Aside from that: In Germany the known rule "biggers' always better than necessary" isnt into first lead. Here lots of ppl are buying more small cars to have maybe the money to buy another one just for fun. Plus our gasoline prices are much more higher and the V8 consumpts partly a lot of it if you let go. I wouldnt say over my whole country that we're driven more economicly, but as read here, the average car has almost not more than 150HP. In oppsite of the US, where most of your cars are absolutely overpowered for your strict speed rules come the question to mind "what for?" aside from "is nice to have".
For my taste most idiot drivers here are to be found into Bavaria (those are not Italians but Germans), never encountered more badass driving, based on round 40 years of driving experience into several countries and continents. Motorways into East Germany are also bit tricky, they love to block the middle and left lane by speeding with snore speed.
Dont know enough to judge the US drivers or compare them adequately, but Im quite sure, you have your specialists there too.
Oh, and not to forget that our police officers are dont think, they are half-gods like your folks do

We need to have an autobahn here, especially due to the vastness of our country to get to point B faster. Then there would be more justification for American Muscle.

People here would never be able to drive on an actual AB. They'd ignore the posted limits in rain or around serious bends. They'd never maintain their cars and/or switch to winter tires and they sure as hell would never figure out lane discipline.

I admit that even four years into driving in Germany, I still allowed faster cars to creep up on me when passing. I'd get blinded to thinking that 250kph was fast enough and then notice someone who clearly wasn't governed coming up quickly. I never made them wait, but I also wasn't always prepared for it. Closing speeds at those velocities are a pretty different ball game.

Yes it is pretty annoying getting cut off on the autobahn. One thing they need is more lanes, 2 lanes on an unlimited speed road doesn't cut it and can be downright dangerous at high speeds.

Nah! Somehow you would get a Prius in there for some unkown reason. Those cars always seem to get in the way.

An autobahn in the US would be a disaster. The rules of the road are not enforced with just the interstate system as it is, never mind if you had some slow poke hanging out in the left lane on an autobahn.
