Annoying buzzing from driver area solved.

Had an annoying buzzing when going over bumps or rough road. Sounded like it was coming from behind the speedometer or HUD. When I banged on the dashboard around that area I would hear the buzzing. Opened stuff up and explored the area to find that the actual culprit was a piece of plastic tubing way down low. You can get access to it by removing the 2 T20 screws for the compartment. Once it was open I put some dynamat sound deadening material on the plastic tubing and it seems to have solved the problem.

Hmm weird, seems like that's an HVAC vent.. guess it was just enough to "buzz" against the metal frame. I haven't heard anything like that before.

Interesting! I have an occasional noise from the same up-top dash area, only in cold weather. Looks easy to check this possibility, thanks.

Having driven the car around for a few days now, it was well worth the effort. My wife and I looked at each other amazed at how quiet the car is now. Sounded like a cheap econobox car with all the buzzing. Just glad it was relatively easy to find.
