I've been lurking for a while. My first post might not be worthy of any literary awards but there is no denying the ridiculousness of Bimmerista's comment.

Bimmerista was using a hyperbole (i.e. comparison to Chinese Chery or Cherry (sp?)) to discribe his dislike of Lexus' design

It's like me saying I think runflats suck donkey balls, do runflats suck donkey balls in reality? I doubt it, but I do think they suck. Does everyone agree with my assessment? No, I don't think so, but I don't think it's embarrassing for me to make that statement, just as I don't think Bimmerista's statement about Lexus' design is embarrassing.

And why would you choose to make your first post a ridicule of a fellow member? instead of a productive 1st post????

No I'm pretty sure he just meant that Lexus was copying BMW quad exhaust design. No hyperbole. And there are other things I find wrong with this statement. Is he claiming that BMW owns the rights to the quad exhaust design? And how is making them vertical, something no one else has done before, copying in any sense of the word? Wouldn't it be more "copying" if Lexus had just done a normal horizontal quad exhaust design?

Anyway, that chop is fake. It was floating around from a Japanese car magazine a very long time ago. Note the BMW-esque rear diffuser and side vent. Those will never see the light of day. I've heard that the BBS wheels might though.

The auto. in the Lexus and Mercedes is most-likely much smoother than the SMG, I think we should just wait until these cars are actually released before we jumo to conclusions.
A true sports sedan comes with the OPTION of a stick. The amgs are not true sports sedans either when you look at an M5. I would have more respect if it came with a SMG than only an auto. I hate automatic on ANY car (Just my opinion) so thats why I would not even consider the car. I dont have to wait for the car to come out to not like it because I hate automatic and that will be the only transmission available on it.

they can stuff a v8 under the hood all they want, the car will still put me to sleep, much like the is350 and the is300 did.

those great interiors are surely great for something, and it's definetely not driving. i'd rather buy a Lexus to take naps in it rather than drive it
