Bimmerlink issue

Awaiting Bimmerlink support to respond but thought of asking it here in hope for a better response.

Got Bimmerlink for the first time to do the exhaust flap mod. Upon clicking the "Exhaust" icon within the app I got a message - "Function not available". Get the same message for ASD. I'm able to read errors (temp & permanent) easily so the connection (over bluetooth Carista adaptor) works.

I even tried the ASD using bimmercode but the coding had no impact on interior sound (all of the ASD_1 through ASD_4 options incl. ASD_Config are set to "aktiv".

MY2016 (November 2015 build xdrive USA model).

Any help?

It’s been a while, but it seems to me I got that message in Bimmerlink when I tried it with just the ignition on. I was definitely able to open and close the flap when the engine was running.

As far as I know the X1 doesn’t have ASD, so that didn’t work for me either.

Thx. Should have clarified - tried it with ignition on & off. No luck. Even swapped out for a different adaptor.

By ignition on I meant all electronics on but engine not started, which is the mode that most programming works in, but if you've tried it with the engine running as well that's what I was after. I'm using a Veepeak adapter and was able to open and close the flap from behind the car while watching it. I'll give it another whirl and see if I can duplicate my earlier success!

Just tried it again and on mine, in the settings for the exhaust flap in Bimmerlink, the timeout needs to be set to No. That way, it works. Otherwise, I get “Function not available”.

Great tips. Setting time out to No fixed my problem too! Thank you =D Give a big boost to the performance for my setup (K&N Pod + Dinan Sports) as the back pressure is relieved.
