I am looking to replace the stock Goodyear rfts on the stock 20 inch wheels. Has anyone tried 255/35/20s on the stock wheels. I believe the offset is +50 based on what I can find online. The 255s appear to open up a lot of tire options with minimal change in the tire diameter. The extra 30 MM section width seems like it could be an issue though.

This is actually my car and they are 32 offset not 35. 35 would be fine with 255's . Stock? Not sure. I'd feel comfortable with +32 all the way to 40 but probably not +48

A little off topic but do you guys think an 18x8 wheel with offset +32 would fit an x2 xdrive28i? Is the offset too low?

No sweat, it's only 10mm further out from stock, so it's like adding some spacers. Plenty of room to go.

Any pics you can post?

Anyone else with 18" wheels on the M35i? Thinking of 18 for winter set but brake clearance has me worried.

per other threads, 18" won't clear the front brakes. a couple of folks here got 18" for a spare with the assumption if a front tires blows out, move a rear and put the spare on the back. I think rice_rocket did that

Thanks. I’ll stick with 19s for a winter setup.

I did not bother with the spare myself although I have been following the thread. Someone did try the spare and it does not fit the front brakes, but it does fit the rear.

I did, however, try my X1 stock msport 18" wheels and they do in fact clear the front brakes.
