BimmerCode for Flash to Pass

Has anyone used BimmerCode to change one-touch flash to pass from 3 flashes to 5 flashes?

I looked through the ECUs for the setting, but cannot find it. Thanks.

ECUs → Headunit (HU_NBT_EVO) → Expert Mode →
5_FACH_TIPPBLINKEN → aktiv(Default:nicht_aktiv)

I do not find the setting under Headunit Expert Mode:

Last 2 items at the bottom are cut off, but not 5_FACH_TIPPBLINKEN

You’re still one level too high - each of those headings contains a number of individual parameters. My recollection is that the one you want is under 3000 HMI, but if not, does the Android version offer a search function like the iOS version? I’ve used that several times to search for a specific entry when I wasn’t sure what section of a particular ECU it was in.

I have some good news and some bad news ...

The good:
I found 5_FACH_TIPPBLINKEN under 3000 HMI in Headunit Expert Mode. I changed it to "aktiv", HU rebooted, then I exited BimmerCode, restarted car and went back into BimmerCode to confirm the setting. Thanks to maaii11, Takabo and kavatski.

The bad:
It still only blinks 3 times!

You need to change from 3 times to 5 times in iDrive settings.

Thanks, Takabo. It's working now!

Interestingly, I had sent a support request to BimmerCode about the procedure and their reply was:

"this is not possible any longer because of restrictions by BMW."

I like 3 blinks so I hadn't done this change but figured I'd try it on our 2019 just to check. No problem - now I have 5 blinks as an option. I'd say Bimmercode's info is out of date.

Glad you got it working. It was a right pain in the ass, it seems so simple but I was scratching my head for ages

Anyone know if this method can use customise value? And if the idrive will reflect the custom value? Say if I set 4 blink, does the idrive shows 4 blink?

After coding with BimmerCode, you still have to go into iDrive to set the number of blinks. The coding only enables more blinks you can select.

Hi there, thanks for your reply. I managed to get the 5 blink working and showing on my idrive system. However, I would like to increase the 5 blink to say 6 blink.

Wondering if that is possible.

I found this on another site

HU_NBT, Section 3000 HMI, Value 5_FACH_TIPPBLINKEN aktiv

and

BDC Body PIA_Default_TippBlinken 5 mal

However when I got into PIA_Default_TippBlinken the value don't seem to be in mal.

As far as I am aware, 5 is the maximum number blinks. Longer than that is for a real street turn.

I see. Thanks. I recall previously we are able to set custom value.
