Remember this is a global forum. X1 sold in the US are pretty much loaded with options. For most countries CarPlay, including the U.K, is most definitely not free, it is a paid for option AND can only be ordered in conjunction with a few other expensive options, so if you want CarPlay you might in theory (assuming you didn’t otherwise want the other options like Nav plus) have to pay $3,500 to get it. Once you get it, the first 1 -3 years (dependent on market) are “free” and then you pay a subscription! Given many budget cars from assorted manufacturers have CarPlay free, it is probably not unreasonable to say the X1 doesn’t.

Not going to work, that's a really big requirement you won't meet.
