Oil Catch Can

Hey All,

Has anyone installed an oil catch can in their F48 X1? I'm aware the B46 engine has an air-oil separator already, but I wanted to install a catch can for additional protection and longevity.

If you have, which one did you install? Any tips or step-by-step instructions available?

Thanks.

This is a good question. I'm also wondering how much oil is being captured.

Actually Burger Motorsports has this available and it's highly recommended. Anyone here installed their JB4 chip? Tons more HP and TQ.
That with their CAI is supposedly awesome especially with the bluetooth option and app so that you can change maps on the fly instead of the analog gauges.

Xorbitman, do you have a direct link to the BMS oil catch can for the F48/B46 engine X1? I looked again and didn't find a model specific kit for the F48 X1.

Appreciate your help.

I've installed a oil catch can on a 2014 F56 Cooper S with the B46 and have yet to catch much. Just alittle bit of water. I wouldn't see the point of installing one on my F48 X1.
