How to turn off cigarette power receptacle?

On every other car I've owned, when I turned the engine off, the cigarette receptacle's power was off. On my '19 X1 that I got a few days ago, even if I press the Start/Stop button twice to turn off the radio-ready state, both cigarette receptacles are still powered. This messes up my use of an auto on/off dash cam. Am I doing something wrong?

It will auto cut off after a while.

It turns off automatically after a few minutes. My dashcam is connected to the lighter socket under the glovebox and I haven’t had any issues so far.

Not sure what you mean by auto on/off dash cam. As in a motion sensor or a g-metre? If that’s what you mean, you’re better off connecting it directly to your fuesbox inside the glovebox. Will need a battery protector too just to be safe.
