Trump’s Schedule Leaked

Just finished reading Axios article on trump’s daily schedule leaked by WH staffer. Fifty-one days from November 7 to February 1. This ain’t fake boys. These are orange man’s official schedules. 500 hours worth. 336 hours dedicated to watching Fox “news”, tweeting, calling friends and lunch in the WH residence. November 23 and January 21 he spent the entire day in front of the TV and tweeting. Who knew running the greatest country on the planet was so easy? N a lighter note, 63% say that the country is in the worst shape in their lifetime.

Those 63% must be talking from an emotional standpoint.

I am not saying it is fake, but how are we so sure it isn't fake? I found the article and its blank pages with agendas on it. No seals, watermarks, white house letterhead, etc... Anyone could have created this.

If true though, I do find this absolutely hilarious.

What “direction” do you mean? The direction of more manufacturing jobs here in the US? The direction of shoring up our borders in order to retain our status as a sovereign nation? The direction of not being led by the nose by foreign governments? Please clarify, what exactly is in the “direction” he is trying to lead us that you are so opposed to... as the non liberal you keep claiming to be.

So which is it, "the greatest country on earth" or is it in "the worst shape in their lifetime"?

How's unemployment and your economy......our PM is picking out his socks for tomorrow's selfies right now......

How is any of this relevant?

Yeah, I'm just not seeing the terrible news that this is supposed to be. There is too much ambiguity here. Could he be a lazy slacker just watching TV? Perhaps, but we don't really know. Could this be a completely fake schedule? That is also a possibility. Could it be somewhere in between and he maybe does less than the previous presidents but doesn't quite reach the 'lousy loungabout' that is portrayed in the article? This is probably the most accurate.

The 'Executive Time' moniker grew to prominence over a year ago following a similar leak of internal schedules, which showed the blocks of time spent by the president away from the Oval Office often lined up with his habit of tuning in to cable news and tweeting out observations or grievances.

For better or worse, President Trump has a different leadership style than his predecessors. This shouldn't be a surprise, though, since Trump's book "The Art of the Deal" appears to offer some insight into why he seemingly prefers less structure in his day.

He wrote, "Most people are surprised by the way I work. I play it very loose. I don't carry a briefcase. I try not to schedule too many meetings. I leave my door open. You can't be imaginative or entrepreneurial if you’ve got too much structure. I prefer to come to work each day and just see what develops."

Not sure where this is coming from, as I cannot find this statistic anywhere. Source?

With respect to the general direction of the country, most Americans feel it is going the 'wrong direction' or they are 'not satisfied with the direction of the country'. This, however, is hardly news. The vast majority always feel this way. As a matter of fact, more have felt this way during previous administrations than currently. Here are my sources to back up this trend:

https://news.gallup.com/poll/1669/ge...d-country.aspx

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/publ...ng_track_feb04

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/ep...untry-902.html

I am certainly not one to commend Trump and his personality. I think he is an asshole. But to say the country is currently doing poorly is a downright lie. Nearly ever single economic indicator supports that the country is currently doing fantastic. Now, this may be because of or in spite of Trump, but the fact remains the country is currently booming.

Anyone who believes that some anonymous source, a “White House staffer”, is privy to every waking moment of the President of the United States is gullible beyond belief.

So, this really sounds more like some hater who has created a fake (news) calendar as I don't really see his official calendar giving a breakdown of how much time he spends watching TV never mind "Fox"......this smells of desperation and sadness.

I think it was Churchill who had a abnormal work schedule too.

In 2 years he has many major accomplishments, all while getting pummeled by the parrot trainers and Peloshume, and he played with Tiger and the Golden Bear yesterday.

This is a great point.....lets give the left props for breaking this news.....and then also acknowledge that Trump is such a great leader that he can watch Fox news 20 hours a day and still get unemployment down and the economy surging.....what if he stepped away from the TV for an extra hour a day?

This is staring to fall into the 'how many diet cokes has he had today camp'.

Churchill followed quite an "abnormal" schedule indeed.
He was very much a night owl and routinely took naps in the afternoons.

Now, it's really anyone's guess as to what "Executive Time" really means.
I'd fathom to guess that it's one of those terms that's deliberately ambiguous.
I have no doubt in my mind that all the Tweeting and reading critiques from his good friends at the NYT et al are done during "Executive Time" but that doesn't mean "Executive Time" only = Tweeting/TV.

Axios, the source of this leak, makes mention that "the president sometimes has meetings during Executive Time that he doesn't want most West Wing staff to know about for fear of leaks. And his mornings sometimes include calls with heads of state, political meetings and meetings with counsel in the residence, which aren't captured on these schedules."

Certainly makes a lot of sense since the Head of the Executive Branch will often be reviewing a lot of classified materials and speaking with individuals regarding security/policy issues, as well as having confidential conversations with foreign heads of state, etc., where the leaking of any of the above would not benefit the White House or the security of the United States.

The greatest irony about this leak (assuming it's legitimate) is that it just demonstrated through itself, why the use of the term "Executive Time" is necessary in case a certain "White House insider" decides to leak matters pertaining to national security.

TL;DR - "Executive Time" is most likely a deliberately vague term used when POTUS doesn't want White House staff to know what he's doing. He could be playing Twitter wars with Pelosi, colluding with Russians, or taking the yuuugest dump the Oval Office has ever seen.
But, just in case he actually does have important confidential phone calls or meetings (such as planning a covert trip to visit troops in Iraq, or arranging a meeting with Kim Jong-un, etc.), it might be helpful to keep details of those plans out of the hands of White House interns or the like, who are much more likely to leak confidential information. In fact, this leak itself demonstrates how reliable certain White House staff are at keeping confidential information to themselves.
