It's frustrating watching this. The tweaks done here make a massive quality difference to the design outcome and still allow the overall design to move forward. Why can't BMW just hire this guy and be done with it?

I hope we don't have a similar experience when the G87 and G87 CS are released.

I'm fairly confident one of the reasons these new BMW's look awful is because they are preparing people for how awful it's going to look when it's fully EV after this generation. That's just my hunch.

Audi and Porsche EVs all look great. BMW on the other hand…

Is that a real BMW? First time i've seen it, but it looks 100% awful. There is no question people are turning away from the brand because of that styling.

I appreciate the guys insight and breakdown of the aesthetic flow, but Photo Chopping the length of the front of the car w/o any acknowledgment of engine bay space, safety requirements, and/or hard points of engineering, makes this less of a constructive review overall..

Niels van Roij is a master of considering the car as the sum of its parts when looking at design / proportions and critiques that thoughtfully here:

Less talented designers have been designing cars that shock (as opposed to beautiful cars) for the entire history of cars.
BMW is up to their ears in this situation right now.
