LED Halo's - Now Totally Confused?
Hi All
After reading countless posts and threads on the LED Halo options I have managed to get quite confused and can't seem to bottom out what I need to order. As I patiently await the arrival of my brand new 320d M Sport Plus, which I have spec'd up with the Adaptive Headlight option, I am looking to order some LED bulbs if possible? Now I know these have the HID lights that move about when cornering but as far as I am aware the BMW rings or Halo's are still the yellowish looking standard jobbies like on the halogen variety? I really like the look of the aftermarket LED upgrade which appears to be a straight bulb swap? After reading many threads I am now confused as to what bulbs I need. I am also a little apprehensive of ordering the wrong sort as I have seen mention of error codes, fuses blowing and other general stuff going wrong which I am sure my dealer would love to charge me for should I make something go pop! Can anyone point me in the right direction? I am after a nice white colour and similar brightness to the LED lights you see on the likes of Audi etc. so they look OEM and not overpowering. Thanks in advance Matt |

I thought all the new cars (60 plate onwards?) had the white side light/Angel eyes? and not the yellow.

I think that if its xenons they'll be the new white angel eyes, if they're halogens they'll be yellow,
but its best to wait for yours to arrive so you can be sure

Hi Again
Well the new car's here and despite having the HID Adaptive headlights it still has the yellowish halo's fitted. From what I can tell it appears the E90/91 won't have the new white ones after all. Perhaps they are waiting for the new 2012 3 Series to arive before they add this? So in the meantime I'm still left wondering what bulbs are needed to achieve an OEM or close to OEM look. I have had a look around but it's quite confusing. Some sites specifically dont list the E90 post 2009. Any advice welcome!! |

I don't know what that's all about? Sometimes when I post on Bimmerpost on the iPhone it doesn't seem to work?
Yeah, I've see the Ebay ones but after reading a few threads about the quality of some of them I'd be a bit aprehensive about ordering. Are you planning on getting some Dizzle? |

yes the wagon and saloon still come with the yellow lights. The problem you will have is that nearly all the replacements for the yellow ones are no where near as bright. I've still got the yellow ones on my M3 until someone comes up with a way to make the LED ones look as bright. So far all of the aftermarket ones either require you to rip the entire car apart or they are totally unoticable in daylight. After all the lights are there to make people see you (as well as making your car look cool )
Neil.

If you want the best and brightest look - you can use HID's to light them....do a search.

fitting the led bulbs is a bumper and lights off job imo, but once off its fairly straight forward if you follow the guides available on here.
or someone like ssdd or m style can do the job for you..
