I am glad to hear. I have just done a short testdrive with X1 2.0 diesel a year ago, which did not impress me, but I have read several reviews saying that Aisin 8-speed is good.

Also a "manual" guy, I use the manual mode for fast overtaking - starting at 3000 rpm - and passing haulers in "no time" on winding country roads.

I have checked Mini Cooper JCW sites with a lot of vehicles with nice sound - I am convinced I can get a sound similar to what I have today. My M Performance exhaust is manufactured by Red Arch Engineering/Manufacturing in the UK and has dual modes.

Yes, the Aisin in Sports mode is pretty good...not as good as the ZF, but better than the M-B AMG A45 dct or that in the Audi RS Q3. I can't comment on noise ? I have other cars for that, including one with an Akrapovic, and if I made the X1 sound fruity, I'd be in divorce court.
