My first reaction was "Open that fucker up and stuff it into those banked turns!" but then I checked the specs, what little is known about it, and apparently it's got a top speed of only about 60 or so. It'd probably fall off the banking, or at the very least be a handful. Not worth the risk of embarrassment, say nothing of the expense.

Got to appeal to his base. It is NASCAR after all. He speaks the typical fan's language and values. Not exactly a hard sell. Bush did it back in 2004. Ya know, that Air Force One photo Trump's bright campaign manager tweeted and deleted. LOL

My thoughts exactly. I can't imagine what that beast weighs. I posted in another thread that I wanted to watch but didn't want to watch for fear of some embarrassment as it slid down the the banks.

I hadn't seen the updated beast. HUGE improvement over the last few iterations. It drove by me once a few months ago (during UN general assembly) when I was walking home but I didn't see the front end.

The other hazard would have been getting up to the wall, next to the crowd, and having one or another of the car's countermeasures tripped. Would be a PR nightmare if something in the crowd made a loud "bang" and the car let loose a cloud of tear gas and a volley of buckshot. Talk about having a good gesture backfire on you...

Curious, what are the typical Trump fans values?

Other than the fringe elements where you have some racism and (White) nationalism, mostly support of the 1st and 2nd amendment. They want the gov't to more or less leave people alone, get its hands out of their pockets (lower taxes), spend more time/money working on issues here in the country instead of providing billions of dollars in aid to other countries who may or may not even like us.

That's kind of it in a nutshell.

(not a Trump supporter, but could be called a conservative)

What I thought - you think all of us that voted for Trump over Hillary have values beneath you. Yet, you don't know any of us.

Please be specific about which of our values you don't agree with?

It's not worth the time as my views as they far more complex than the typical Trump supporter who tends to see things in more simple terms and ideas like Trump. They tend to live in the now and don't necessarily want to be bothered with the potential outcome of their actions in the future. It's hard to get through to them and usually the response is a meme or "He's still your President". What's the point? They're set in their ways. I say the same thing about diehard liberals too. Party over everything is terrible for us and this country.

NASCAR fans lean very heavily to the conservative side. Trump is playing it up to that crowd and it gets him more TV time in front of his base. Trump doesn't give two shits about NASCAR. Where he get his ego stroked, that's where you'll find Trump.

I'm a proud deplorable. I'm not a particular fan of Trump, but he's not been a horrible POTUS overall. If HRC had gotten in we'd already have lost several thousand additional young souls in Bumfuckistan and we'd have several other conflicts simmering, ready to gobble up tens of billions of dollars and thousands of young lives from the most disadvantaged circumstances which she claims to represent and care about.
