Dear BMW,

I promise to get excited about your latest creation and help you sell lots of them if you promise to stick the S55 into the F87 soon.

Love,

me

The concept version looks a lot sharper and more aggressive than the version that's seen in spy shots. As you can see from one of the spy shots here, the muffler is the same as what's on F48 X1 now. Therefore, I would expect X2 to have similar treatment as what's on F48 X1 now.

I do like F48 X1 design and am sure the production version of X2 will look great, though I do agree that the rear of the car looks very similar to Hyundai Tucson... Whether that is a good or bad thing would depend on individual taste, but I agree that it's a departure from BMW unique design language of the past. I would not be surprised that most people today would mistake the new X2 for a Hyundai Tuscon, especially many people I know (like my mom) don't really pay much attention. My mom has mistaken other people's Buick/Ford/Honda for my dad's Mercedes so many times just because the cars had similar colors and gotten in the passenger seat. She would literally scared the poor drivers to death because she would order them to drive before she realized the driver was a stranger...

I feel that for the new X1/X2 family BMW is targeting a new market that is different from the traditional BMW target buyers, so it kind of makes sense that the new X2 would depart from the more traditional BMW design language.

As long as It doesn't have the X1's interior, we will be fine.

I really like the looks, but for me it needs to not be the FWD layout. For me, FWD/AWD is a hard pass.

Original RWD X1 interior was horrible for sure, but the current X1's interior looks spot on to me... classy, high quality materials, driver focussed layout what more does one want!?

Nice materiais indeed, but tbh I don't like the layout. I prefer how the old one looked.

The gear lever is lame, there's no lci screen whatsoever in the tack/speedo, and I find the idrive screen too small. Small details but I really dislike how it came out. Could've been better.

Really disappointed the X1 doesn't use the BMW style automatic transmission shifter found in most models. I really love the monostable design.

The new one interior looks awful. The old one still looks amazing and screams BMW DNA. From seats to cockpit the old one rules over hands down.
Did I mention that the old one is a true xDrive?

Happy to see that the headlamps are not touching the grille.
Hope it makes it, the new "blend-in" design doesn't do it for me. The 6 Series and 2 Series look very good.
Want to buy a brand new BMW and cannot live with the new headlamps.
They need to keep this concept and dump the hood line too so we can talk about design...
Still waiting...

Its ideal to market launch in 2018. Because the X2 will launch alongside the all new X3 and the X1 Life Cycle Impulse. Followed a year later with an all new X4 and the fourth generation X5. And then the next X6 and the first X7.
Within two years the BMW X models will have been renewed, refreshed and expanded. Very important for when SUV sales continue to grow and grow.

I love human nature, when the world panics and all for saving the planet and turning green, diesel SUV segment becomes the biggest one.
For the record I am not into the green hybrid stuff, wish the tax system was in favour of petrol.
