What, no mention of the BMW801 radial engine!!!??
Unique, fan air-cooled high performance radial aero engine, and the most numerous German air-cooled radial engine of WW2, with some 28,000 built, plus the last BMW aero engine, and the first internal combustion engine to ever use an ECU, the mechanical-hydraulic Kommandogerät, which, for the era, was an astonishing piece of engineering.

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

Has there been something in the philosophy of BMW to not produce a supercar? Given its tie to F1 and the fact its main competitor has made super cars I never understood why BMW never went down that road.
