Should you get a air intake with a tune and downpipes?

I was wondering. if you get some downpipes and a tune like the burger stage 1, would you reccomend also doing a air intake mod?

Stock intake flows pretty well. Stg 1 only adds about 4psi of boost max. I'd say the DPs were more effective. But if you got money to burn, I d get a cool carbon CAI for aesthetics.

Otherwise, that money is better spent on tires or a couple HPDEs

Gains quoted on the website "gains of up to 10+ horsepower to the wheels at 25psi+ boost levels" .

My original goal was to improove the sound make the turbos spool up but after what I heard a downpipe can do alone, I don't think I will be needing to hear the turbos

I think HP augmentation with CAIs are bogus unless you got more bolt-ons (think stg 2 or higher).

You can get the majority of those gains simply by going with drop in filters and removing the charcoal filters.

The PSI dyno thread is quite revealing. A simple K&N drop in provides about the same ~10hp gain as the BMS intake. The PSI intake apparently provides ~7 additional hp over the K&N. An intake is a lot of money for 0~7hp gain, but it does improve the sound.

Intakes don't really gain any power. They are more for sound.

They do make awesome sound but if performance is your goal just do a drop in filter and charcoal delete.

CAIs can be beneficial if they include scoops to flood the filter area with outside air. Materials matter, CF tends to stave off heat soak better than metal. Also, it is advantageous to free up filter area to promote better flow.

Check out Eventuri's website, they have put a ton of research into their intake and it nets 15hp, which is enough to make a difference! Sounds great too!

Depends on what you are looking for

Intake will not add power on stage 1. Only time intake will add power is when car is FBO pushing max boost (even then power gains are only 5-10 whp)

It does sound awesome, i would get it either way
