Recall

Just input my reg number into BMW site and have an outstanding recall code 0013690300.
Anyone know what this refers to? I try to avoid the main dealer as much as possible!

It's a 2016 2.0 diesel xline

is that the EGR recall? Why avoid the dealer, it's a recall. it's supposed to be covered.

BMW is extending its recall of diesel cars, after it was found that faulty parts could lead to a potential fire risk. In 2018, BMW originally recalled 268,000 UK diesel cars after it was found that glycol leakage from the engine’s exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler could result in burning soot deposits when combined with the high temperatures inside the EGR system. Now, this recall has been extended to a further 27,000 vehicles in the UK.

I called the dealer and now booked in. Actually getting my service and MOT done at same time as the service price of £243 seemed reasonable. I hope I don't live to regret it.
Apparently the recall is to "upgrade new software" but she couldn't elaborate on what that was!

It's a diesel gate recall to recalibrate the exhaust gas's as the previous poster said get the EGR valve checked for leakage as this was also a recall. Had both recalls done on my vehicle, also had my EGR valve replaced under warranty, it failed causing the vehicle to hesitate under load.
