Start Stop feature. How to inactive?

Any way to use the idrive system to have the Start/Stop feature inactive upon start up?
My F8x’s are defaulted off from the get go.

Or do I need to get coding done?

2021 X1 2.8

You can code to remember last setting, however, my 2016 has the button to simply 'turn off' right next to the stop/start button.

Works great - never had any problems enabling this. Not sure if 2021 has it but i'd think they should, if they don't.

You can do it yourself with bimmercode and a BT OBDII dongle, best $50 you'll spend.

Super easy...

Just be aware that, if the firmware in your car gets updated, your coding changes will probably be lost and you will have to make them again. This has happened to me 3 times so far.

For a new 2021 model, there will likely be firmware updates when you take the car in for warranty maintenance, so keep a record of your coding changes. If you have a "disable" button next to the stop/start button, it would be easier just to push again if needed.

Also, your iDrive settings will probably be lost after firmware updates, so export your profiles to a USB flash drive before going in.
