Engine coolant
Does BMW suggest a specific engine coolant or is it cool to use any off the shelf type?
I've had the car 2 years now and it only gets driven in the sun. I just checked my engine and aftercooler levels and I appear to be down slightly on the engine coolant. Don't want to mix if it's not copacetic to do so. Thanks

Hey Stan.
Check out this thread I started couple weeks ago. https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1995060 If it’s only down a little and you want to top up, it’s ok to use distilled water with no issues. Just try not to over dilute the mixture of 50/50 (coolant/distilled water) Worst case, I’d go to bmw dealer to get some Oem coolant. Cheers |
