20" MORR VS8.2 - OFFICIAL PRE-ORDER THREAD - Guaranteed Delivery Dates!!!
Hello Everyone,
We would like to formally introduce the 20" MORR VS8.2 to M3Post! This will be the one and only OFFICIAL pre-order list available. If you decide to place your order with another dealer that is fine but it will end up on this list anyways so feel free to look here for updates We have been following the production very closely and decided to dedicate our funds to purchasing the entire batch of incoming 20" sets. Yes all of them belong to us So here is what we are going to do to avoid any of the usual delays, concerns, etc. Payment Security Guarantee: We have a confirmed arrival date of Jan. 1, 2012. In order to instill confidence in everyone we will only be taking a 50% deposit on the orders. This deposit will be non-refundable until Mar. 1, 2011. After this date you can request a full refund of all your money if the order has not shipped. No questions asked no hassles. We want to make sure everyone who is waiting on the wheels gets them w/o any issues, inventory shortages, headaches etc. If you can not wait until at least Jan. 1, 2012 please do not purchase. There is a possibility of them arriving sooner but I will not promise this. Delivery Date Guarantee: In the last group buy there were major delays almost 100% attributed to finishing. They have switched the entire process around and now every finish is standard with only the signature colors being optional. This will alleviate all the delays and why we are guaranteeing the wheels by a certain date. PRICING (UPDATED BY MORR 10/15/11): MSRP: $4875 MAP: $3900 PRE-ORDER (first 10 sets): $3500 PRE-ORDER (sets 11-20): $3600 PRE-ORDER (sets 20+): $3750 BRUSHED FINISH will be an additional $100/wheel. SIGNATURE FINISHES will be an additional $125/wheel. CUSTOM FINISHES will be an additional $100/wheel. STANDARD FINISHES will be: Silver, Matte Silver, Matte Black, Glossy Black, Satin Black, Textured Black, Gunmetal, Satin Gunmetal, Textured Gunmetal, and a few others. YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW THE EXACT FINISH YOU WANT TO PLACE THE ORDER. Shipping will be FREE with the US. International shipping will get a $75 credit towards shipping. Build Information from MORR: "MonoForged™ - Lighter.Wider.Stronger. After a great market response with the re-introduction of the MORR MonoForged™ collection, we were swamped with requests to make the MonoForged™ VS8.2 in a 20" fitment. Today, we are proud to introduce the newest addition to the MORR line-up: the 20" MORR MonoForged™ VS8.2 Like all wheels from the MonoForged™ collection, the 20" VS8.2 was re-engineered using extensive Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Vehicle Specific Weight Optimization, Vehicle Specific Load Ratings, Vehicle Specific Profiles, and MPC™ (MonoForged™ Proprietary Concavity). Lighter. The new MonoForged™ VS8.2 is lighter, wider, and stronger than almost ALL of the 20" monoblock wheels currently available in the market. The all-new FRONT 20x9" VS8.2 weighs 10.34-kg (22.80-lbs) making it only 0.907-kg (2-lbs) heavier than the 19x9" VS8.2. The REAR 20x10" VS8.2 weighs in at 23.4lbs, and the REAR 20x10.5" weighs in at an astonishing 24.4lbs. This weight reduction was achieved by implementing several advanced manufacturing processes including flow-forming, which reduces barrel thickness by up to ten-percent, Vehicle Specific Profiles (VSP) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) by using Vehicle Specific Load Ratings (VSLR) and Vehicle Specific Weight Optimization (VSWO). By using VSLR and VSWO, weight can be reduced by eliminating the need for using excessive load ratings due to the wheel blanks being shared with higher rated platforms. MORR manufactures wheel blanks exclusively for every design it produces, allowing us to engineer the blanks according to the specific load ratings of the vehicle brand & model we are making the wheel for. This in turn increases our production costs, but allows us to make a far superior wheel. Through VSP, we can minimize excessive back spacing in our wheel blanks. Adding material to the back pad is required when sharing blanks among different platforms, increasing the weight and required excessive machining of the back pad which could compromise the integrity of the final product. Our MonoForged™ blanks are vehicle specific, thus requiring minimum machining of the back pad, resulting in a lighter wheel without any compromise in structural integrity. Wider. At 10.5-inches wide, our new VS8.2 rears are .5-inch wider than any of its predecessors, and .5-inches wider than the 19" VS8.2. This widens the vehicle’s rear track, allowing for wider tires, increasing the concavity profile and improving the overall vehicle handling dynamics. Stronger. At MORR, during the design stage, our engineers run FEA simulations to ensure the weight optimization process does not sacrifice wheel strength. To ensure our wheels are ultra-lightweight and equally as strong, our MonoForged™ collection is manufactured using only the highest grade 6061-T6 Aluminum. All of our wheels conform to the strict international standards of wheel quality and manufacturing, which include VIA/JWL, TuV-Rheinland, and the SAE J2530 standards. In fact, every set of wheels ships with a copy of our SAE J2530 certification results. The 20" MonoForged™ VS8.2 is rated at the new safety standard of 690-kg (1520-lbs) per corner; an increase of 30-kg over the previous standard, making the wheel significantly more resistant to load. Our VS8.2 are also subject to extensive Rotary Bending Fatigue, 13-degree Impact @ 0-degrees, 13-degree impact @ spoke, Radial Load Endurance and Radial Load Fatigue physical testing. Available Sizes & Weights: 20x9" ET22mm - 22.8lbs 20x10" ET35mm - 23.4lbs 20x10.5" ET25mm - 24.4lbs" PICTURES: Last edited by wheeladdicts; 03-02-2012 at 05:59 PM.. |

So how many 20" sized wheels can you choose from really?
I think I've seen 9", 10", 10.5" and now 11" wide VS8.2 wheels in 20"

I know what you did and it is a typical mistake. When you measure a wheel width you do not measure outer lip to outer inner as it will typically yield an additional inch. The proper way to measure is inner part of the outside edges (where the tire actually sits). This is what I mean (no I am not an artist): |

And that's a classic mistake measuring wheels, and the same goes when you measure the diameter, a 20" wheel will be more than 20" total diameter. But those 245/35/20 Toyo tires looks pretty stretched sitting on a 9" wide wheel?

A 245/35/20 will be a bit stretched on a 9". Toyos run a bit narrower so it is more noticeable. This works in LACASTER's case as he loves being low so it reduces any chance of rubbing.
