BMW X2 Updates For Summer 2019

COMMENTS

Per BMW, the following updates are coming to the X2 in July:

BMW X2: LED headlights now standard, additional light-alloy wheels, optional M Sport braking system.

The BMW X2 will come as standard from July 2019 with LED headlights with extended features. Their adaptive light distribution ensures optimum road illumination in urban areas, when turning off a road and through corners. LED front foglamps will also be part of standard specification for the compact Sports Activity Coupe. Options will include five new light-alloy wheels in 18- and 19-inch formats and two new upholstery variants.

The M Sport braking system fitted as standard on the BMW X2 M35i (fuel consumption combined: 7.1 – 6.9 l/100 km [39.8 – 40.9 mpg imp], CO2 emissions combined: 161 – 158 g/km) will now be available as an option for all other variants of the BMW X2. The Navigation option will now include an 8.8 inch Control Display with touchscreen functionality in place of the previous 6.5-inch version. And if the Navigation Plus option is specified, the display will have a screen diagonal of 10.25 inches.

Optioned up they are the same price as an X3, which comes with everything standard.

That's the drawback to the things...they're pricey!! The size is better for her though than an X3 (which my wife has and loves).

True. I bought a 135 which was considerably more expensive than a 320 or 328.

X2 is great size and drives like a car vs the X4/X3 which are more traditional SUV heights and you feel the height. Different cars for different needs.... Go for it!

I'm with billnchristy ... been driving my new to me m35i and it's a blast. Today I took out the e60 which was: 1) more solid and quiet 2) handled better (but not faster/lighter) 2) had gobs more power on the highway

.... but the m35i is still so much more fun. It is zippier (much lighter), and the exhaust sound is nicer..

I had an X3 courtesy vehicle while my X2 was in for service. It's a nice vehicle, but it's too big and too tall. The X2 isn't perfect, but I'm happy with my choice.

I'm picking my X2 up on Monday. I had an extremely hard time finding one with the specs I wanted (Apparently there is one in Southern California at any dealerships.). That 10.25" touchscreen sounds nice, but.... Lease is up on my GLA-250 and it would probably be 2-3 months before these are on lots I imagine.

Oh well, I'll make do with the 8.8" screen. Now that I think about it, I believe that may be the size of the upgraded one on my GLA.

I would guess these updates are part of 2020 model year production; I just received my order number this week, scheduled for production first week of July, and am confirmed that mine will be a 2020 model.
