iOS 13 full screen carplay on entrynav?

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I follow the assorted threads on Carplay and most of the NBT and NBTEvo folks are starting to show their 8.8" screens they've modded for full screen with iOS 13 but I know we're entrynav and far more limited, however I just went for the beta and was wondering if there's either an advanced setting in bimmercode or a vendor that can code this for an x2?

My brother-in-law is running the beta of the new iOS and paired his phone up to my X2 this weekend to show me the new CarPlay screens - I made the observation that it is a shame the entire screen is not utilized, so I would be VERY interested if such a mod exists.

It's been done for all the prior headunits, but I know entrynav is a bit more of an unknown, and as you said, the screen is all but made for this update.

I didn't know what you meant by 'entrynav' so searched here to see what it was and I'm still a bit confused. I've got the Nav in the Premium Pkg w/8.8" screen - so is my head unit 'entrynav' you are referring to?

You'll see references to the systems in other BMW's as NBT, NBTevo, (nextbigthing and nextbigthing evolution) which are the core hardware/software under the headunit, the X1 and X2 use a lower end set of hardware known as ENTRYNAV which has not been as hacked and cracked as the NBT lines have which is why you see fewer options at the places that code such as Bimmer-tech.

So I found the setting in Bimmercode in the Headunit of:
3000 HMI
CarPlay Fullscreen
and flipped it to Aktiv and disappointment abounds, all it does is stretch the smaller CarPlay screen bigger, it doesn't allow iOS to fill the screen properly.

Anyone got ideas?

Just re-visiting this thread. Anyone stumble upon any hacks to make CarPlay fill the entire screen?

So far nope, it unfortunately sounds like we need BMW to make the changes internally, which might be more possible with the changes to CarPlay licensing.

Other than "replace the system with something other than an ENTRYNAV2" ? or that it can be done in iDrive 7?

It's resolved by the latest version of iDrive firmware being installed on the car, there are other threads about that.
